Expanding the UK cycle industry could deliver up to 130,000 new jobs by 2030

The Bicycle Association has published research showing that cycling could create approximately 130,000 new jobs by 2030, contributing to the government’s target of 2 million green jobs by that year. This would represent about 6.5% of the total green jobs goal set by the Green Jobs Taskforce. Additionally, the government aims to reduce carbon emissions by 68% by 2030, which will require significant decarbonisation of the transport sector.

LEFV-Logic – Research on light electric freight vehicles, from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Consists of two-year research into the use of light electric freight vehicles, concluding that LEFVs could replace 10-15% of delivery vehicle movements and that there is a need for a different logistics concept. Technology must be further developed and policy is still unclear and necessary for the adoption of LEFV.
